December 2011 home sales in Missoula were up 6.5% over December 2010. This marks 4 consecutive years of increasing December sales. 4th Quarter 2011 home sales were up 18% over the 4th Quarter of 2010 Annual 2011 home sales were down 2% from 2010 In 2011, 879 homes sold in the Greater Missoula area.

An article in today’s Ravalli Republic reports that sales of homes on less than 20 acres in the Bitterroot Valley were up in 2011 s compared to 2010. 347 homes sold in 2011 as compared to 296 in 2010 – that’s a 17% increase over 2010.

November homes sales were up 30% from 2010 and appear to be on an upward trend
Home sales for the 12 month period ending November 30, 2011 were down 1.8% from the same period in 2010 and are at their lowest level in over 8 years

On Monday afternoon, the Missoula Food Bank realized they were not going to have enough Turkeys for their annual Thanksgiving meal distribution and they put out a call to the community for more turkeys via their Facebook page, local radio and TV stations, and the local newspaper.
